About Me
Born in Tehran, Iran, I spent my formative years moving back and forth between Iran and the US with my family, finally settling in Southern California in my teens. I studied architecture at Cal Poly Pomona and later at Cornell University.
I began painting dot mandalas as a hobby while working as an architect. Discovering that I enjoyed painting more than my 9-5 job, and with the encouragement of friends I left the corporate world and focused on painting and developing my style.
It’s an ongoing adventure, and I hope that you will join me for the journey.
My Art
Like perfume, Art is a very personal and indefinable choice. We’ve learned the conventional boundaries and markers that signal a beautiful painting with a skillful hand behind it, and still, we don’t always enjoy what we see. But there are times when we look at a painting and it speaks to our soul. We feel that feeling and have that ‘aha!’ moment of recognition somewhere in our heart that tells us ‘I like this’. That scene, that color, that shape is somehow tied to a forgotten memory and feeling deep inside us, and we instinctively recognize it and feel a closeness to it.
This recognition is what I attempt to capture in my art. I hope that my viewers will feel a connection somewhere among the colors and patterns that I paint, and that it brings them a moment of happiness.
